We have ongoing classes at Lucky 13 as part of our assistant training program, and as advanced education for our stylists. If you would like to be a model, please be available for the entire class time (services take longer than they would in the salon because we are talking more, going step-by-step, etc.) Also make sure that you are a good match for the type of class it is (ie if it's a bob class, you want a bob). When you see a class you're interested in, just e-mail the salon with a recent photo of yourself so we can make sure your hair is a good match, and we'll be in touch to confirm!
Do I have to be tall, blonde, and thin to be a model? No, in our case being a model means letting us use your hair to demonstrate and practice the techniques that we are studying. Although we will probably want to take pictures of you after the class, so maybe don't show up in pajamas.
Can I be a model anytime? We need our models for specific times, during our classes. And models must be available for the entire class time. There probably will be some sitting around, but we usually have snacks, and always have free coffee and wifi.
Is there a charge for services? For most classes, there is not. If it is an extensive color class, and the service requires a lot of product and time, there may be a nominal charge, which will be listed upfront in the class announcement. What type of models do you need during what times? Our education schedule is based on where we are in our assistant training program, and when outside educators are coming in. So we usually will need bob models for a month or so, then barber cuts, then color, etc. Your best bet is to join our e-mail model list to receive updates, and tell your friends!
